Destination

One coach, one student, one of Costa Rica's most iconic surf beaches. This private lesson at Tamarindo meets you at your level, first wave or hundredth.

Warm water, consistent waves, and a coach who only has to watch you: Tamarindo is a good classroom. Your certified instructor works one-on-one with you on reading the wave, positioning, and getting to your feet without the scramble.

Because it is just you, the session bends to your level. If you have never stood on a board, the focus is safety and confidence. If you already surf, you drill technique at your own pace.

When your arms give out, lunch at a local restaurant in Tamarindo closes the day.

Twenty years guiding Costa Rica as a general and naturalist guide, with a special passion for botany: he points out plant adaptations, ecological relationships and the quiet work that trees, flowers and lianas do in the ecosystem.
