  • Puma was nothing but incredible. Daniel was our guide/driver from La Fortuna to Guanacaste, and again to the Liberia airport. He was kind, knowledgeable and fun to chat with. I had mentioned that he still hadn’t seen toucans or monkeys. Driving along the road, he spotted a group of toucans. So we pulled over, he got his telescope and got some great close up photos. Then, after the river float, he put us on a group of howler monkeys. All very cool. He was punctual and the car was clean inside. He also had water and snacks should we have wanted any. 10/10

  • I booked transportation + a surf experience in Tamarindo with Puma Expeditions and it was such a great experience. The ride was super comfortable, and I loved having water and snacks—it made everything feel really easy. The guide was so kind and attentive, always checking in, which I really appreciated. Surfing was a lot of fun too. Overall, everything just felt really well taken care of. Would definitely recommend!

  • It was our first time visiting Costa Rica and we’re so glad we booked with Puma Expeditions. Everything was super easy and on time, which made arriving so much less stressful. Our guide was so friendly and shared a lot with us along the way—it honestly felt like part of the experience, not just a transfer. We’d 100% book with them again!

    Naturalist Guide · ES, EN

Twenty years guiding Costa Rica as a general and naturalist guide, with a special passion for botany: he points out plant adaptations, ecological relationships and the quiet work that trees, flowers and lianas do in the ecosystem. His favorite day is Palo Verde, where wildlife, tropical wetlands, cultural traditions and history meet — and the birdlife is spectacular.

Twenty-two years in tourism, from restaurants to tour sales to driving and guiding. Místico is his favorite trail: rich in wildlife, easy to walk, and full of the forest's secrets. On transfers north he loves the moment the dry Pacific crosses an invisible line into rainforest green.
